OVERVIEW: I have never been so excited when purchasing an item from Amazon before. For Hyrule Historia I was so excited that it motivated me to write my first ever product review. Let me just begin with this, I am not an avid reader to say the least. The last book I read was a requirement for high school 9 years ago. This is the first book in a long time that I actually wanted to read. I recieved this product on 1/30/2013 and I ordered it back in Decemember 2012 when Amazon was taking preorders for it.

BUILD: When you open the book, you can tell that the hardcover, binding, and the pages are really well constructed. This is no discount shelf book. The illustrations and the text inside the book are well arranged and they catch the eye really nicely. If you love more pictures than words, then you will be in for a treat. With it's 276 page count, the book is heavier than most textbooks that I have purchased for school. An embossed golden Gate of Time is featured on the front and it is paired well with the Hero of Time's most well known tunic color, green.

FEATURES: The best feature about Hyrule Historia is how much attention to detail is used throughout the games that a typical Zelda fan might have missed. Why certain shields are designed the way they are and why the colors of Link's crimson Loftwing are significant are just a few examples. The book also shares the different design concepts that were introduced in the Legend of Zelda series before the final product was decided upon. This lets the reader see how the game could have been and then allows for a possible alternate view of the already loved game. The sequence of events in Link's adventures are in chronological order so the book follows the timeline(s) that were set up by Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda series already has beautiful artwork within its games, but this book does an excellent job of showing powerful images from each and every game. The different games are well divided throughout the book and allow for quick navigation to any game within the series.

SUMMARY: Shigeru Miyamoto and his team went above and beyond to create this amazing book. I knew I was going to recieve something I was going to read with much detail, but the level of detail and the beautiful artwork is what fascinated me the most about Hyrule Historia. If you are into the Legend of Zelda series, this is a no brainer. With so much to discover within the franchise, the book will have something new for everyone to learn. I'm extremely happy with this purchase and I'm sure I will be reading this unforgettable piece of art over and over again.

Concise

Introduction Fuzzy Advances Intelligent Computing

Buckley and Eslami's notation and some of their ideas on fuzzy sets might go deeper than many others. I've found this book intriguing to say the least. You'll find this a very concise "no-nonsense" sort of math book. Ideas get explained in a few sentences or in a few paragraphs, and then come the exercises! And you'll find even more new ideas, not mentioned in the reading, in the exercises. I do like this sort of style of learning mathematics, because it actively gets you involved.

This book and others on fuzzy set theories do require a decent understaning of crisp set theory. So, if one hasn't taken a course or read a book on crisp set theory you might want to check out a copy of Seymour Lipschutz's Schaum's Outline "Theory and Problems of Set Theory." Knowing some basic calculus will also help. Some advantages of this book lie in that it helps one to separate the idea of fuzzy intersections and fuzzy unions from the standard and useful idea of t-norms and t-conorms. Sections on fuzzy geometry, fuzzy trignometry also seem interesting as these ideas have not yet gotten much development.

I think I've detected a potential error in the text in that it gives an integral for an equation that had to have had part of the integral as negative. But, this seems relatively minor. The book could easily get improved if the author(s) provided solved examples of their exercises, or at least answers. Something like a Schaum's Outline of Fuzzy Set Theory would be an excellent idea!

I appreciate simple things in this text like the authors not saying "prove this truth table..." and instead saying "prove or disprove...", and not saying "prove" in general, but rather saying "show".

Levana 32111 Digital Rechargeable Intercom

I use this when babysitting my nephews. It is a pretty nice product. Here are the cool features:

1.) PRIVATE/SECURE CHANNEL: I have never seen or heard this unit picking up anyone else's monitors, or stray phone or TV signals, like I have seen happen in the past with other units. I don't know what kind of encryption/signal they are using to achieve this, but it seems to be working.
2.) LONG BATTERY LIFE: They claim you can get 8+ hours of roaming battery life out of the parent-monitor unit. In practice this is at about 4-6 hours for me, but hey, that's still pretty good.
3.) POWER SAVING MODE: You can set it to "go to sleep" and only alert you if the baby is making noise,etc. That saves battery power on the parent's monitor unit. In practice, paranoid parents won't be happy not always seeing the baby, and not all baby-distress issues cause the baby to make noise, so, I doubt many parents use this mode.
4.) NIGHT VISION!: Once you get used to having night-vision in your baby monitor, you will be loathe to give it up. I have used night vision in other baby monitors, and with home-security products. You are NEVER going to get a crystal-clear picture in night-vision mode, in a home-user sub-$500 product, you just aren't. Night vision mode uses infrared light to construct an image that normal "visible light spectrum" light created with our eyes. By definition that sort of a picture is going to be grainy/low-resolution. With more expensive units, you can get a better picture, but for cheaper home-use units, you get what you pay for. You will be able to see the child, and see "big picture" details like thrashing, jumping, stillness, etc. If you want high-resolution for your night-vision, then shell out the big bucks ^_^
5.) BABY INTERCOM: For older children, this is great, because you can just talk to them, and tell them to go back to sleep, or get back in bed, or reply to their water request, etc. For younger children, they can at least hear your voice, so they calm down a bit as you work your way towards them.
6.) NIGHTLIGHT: The nightlight and the lullaby features on the child-room unit, which you can control from the parent-unit, and two of the biggest selling points in my opinion. My nephews both like light and music when they are sleeping, and many products produced for those features have timers in them that cannot be bypassed, so they will shut off on their own. Which means the parents have to keep going back into the room and turning them on if the child hasn't fallen asleep yet. With these features, you avoid those issues.
7.) ROOM TEMPERATURE MONITOR: I really like this, being able to see the room temperature IS indeed a VERY handy tool at the hands of the parent.
8.) REMOTE CONTROL LULLABIES!: See comments for #6, nightlight :)
9.) EXPANDABLE TO MORE CAMERAS! (THIS ONE IS REALLY COOL): This! This feature all by itself raised the star rating for me. The fact that you can add more cameras to the network and setup monitoring in the playroom, in a window overlooking the backyard, etc. is FANTASTIC. That extends the life of this thing far past just the in-the-crib years.

Nice Set

Winsome Wood 42 Inch Round Table

I looked around for quite a while and could not find a table at any price that better suited my needs, but I guess that speaks more about my needs than about the table itself. Still, it is a great design.

It came in two pieces, the folding top and the base. The base is actually two fixed legs and two hinged legs that pivot out to support each leaf when the table is extended, and fold in close to the fixed legs to allow the leaf to drop. It took me all of five minutes to line up the pieces and screw in the four bolts that hold them together.

Not all was perfect, though. While I know better than to overtighten bolts when working with wood, one of the four pressed-in bolt receivers apparently broke free and "stripped", so the table is being held together by only three bolts, not the four it was designed for. That seems to be no problem because it is sturdy and, had I not been the one to put it together, I'd never have known.

Also, there were a couple depressions--I don't want to say dents because that implies much greater problems than actually exist--on the surface of the folding top. These were certainly not worth the effort involved to send the table back as damaged. Finally, someone at the assembly plant, made pencil marks and wrote numbers, which were later clearcoated over and are now impossible to remove, on the hinged end of one leaf. When the leaf is folded down, the writing is visible.

For the $152 I paid for it, this table is a bargain. Even with the flaws I mentioned, it looks great and it is quite sturdy.

Bottom line: If I had it to do over, I'd buy it again, with zero hesitation.

Li ion Battery Apple MacBook 15 inch

This battery was purchased from America Digital Accessories, Corp. for a 2008 15.4" MacBook Pro (MB134LL/A). The order was fulfilled by Amazon Prime and arrived in two days on June 22, 2011. It was well-cushioned with foam rubber in the box and removable plastic on both sides of the battery to protect the finish. The exterior finish is similar to the original battery but slightly darker (hardly noticeable, but not exactly the same). The fit was exact with no trouble installing but still tight with no wiggling. The computer booted up immediately on battery power. There was no problem charging and the system profiler is showing a full charge capacity of 5433 mAh and condition = normal (Apple/About This Mac/More Info/Hardware/Power). Buyer ratings for replacement batteries are fairly low, even for OEM replacements from Apple so I thought it was important to publish a positive review. There were no instructions in the box so buyers should refer to Apple instructions for proper calibration. [...]

1. I installed this product in my attic and it brings in more stations than the FCC web site says I should be able to (when placed in the corner of the attic in the direction of TV transmitters). Reception was a bit degraded if placed where HVAC ducting obstructed the signal. I wish that I had bought this a long time ago rather than messing with set-top antennas (which had to be relocated for each station and lost signal when an aircraft passed by or the AC fan came on).

2. Note that control of rotation (power for the motor) is sent up the coax antenna cable so they are serious about the 50' set-top box to antenna limit. (You can't just rig it to the house' cable input and get TV in every room through the cable splitter.) There are two outputs from the set-top control box.

3. My antenna would not rotate so I called the company. The representative talked me through troubleshooting and we found a wire that was not soldered to the circuit board inside the antenna housing. They sent me a replacement immediately without waiting for me to return the original so I had uninterrupted reception.

Battlefleet Gothic Armada Battlefleets Millennium

This is the first and only offical update book for the table top wargame BATTLEFLEET GOTHIC by gamesworkshop.
It has a large amount of material on the various fleets already introduced by the original book as well as new races(factions) in the game. It is a much needed booster to the original game.
It is currently out of print, as the game is no longer "offically" being devloped any further by the company.(several fansite, some un-official gamesworkshop development continues)

that being said, as a nod to the fact of a fairly devout fanbase (and contiued sales of the fantastic models for the game) you CAN DOWNLOAD THE ENTIRE GAME FOR FREE all the rules , all the updates large and small for the gamesworkshop website in the specialist game area for battlefleet gothic. in pdf form no less. the company still sells the high quality models.

As with game pieces sold on amazon(see other reviews) there seem to be some predatory sellers out there asking insulting ( to anybodys intelligence) prices for the books and game pieces. remember its nice to have but you can get for free. if the prices here are just to high try ebay. fair price for the book seems to run between 30 to 80 dollars U.S. at time of review.

Fever THE BREATHLESS TRILOGY ebook

Just when I didn't think it could get any better than Rush, Maya Banks throws Fever into the mix and my emotions are in such a jumbled mess that I can't think straight. I loved everything about Fever! If you read Rush and thought you loved Gabe, you will absolutely LOVE Jace and his all out alpha maleness that bleeds from every page.

The story begins with all our beloved characters; Gabe, Mia, Jace, and Ash, celebrating a wonderful occasion that I won't mention here to prevent spoilers for those who haven't yet read Rush. Jace spots a lovely girl named Bethany busing tables at the event and an electrical spark immediately shoots through him. When Ash notices where Jace's eyes are focused, he inquires as to what Jace is thinking. Well, in true fashion, Ash takes it upon himself to proposition the girl for both he and Jace for the night. Never did he dream that Jace wanted this lovely girl all to himself. When she accepts the proposition after learning dinner comes with it, Jace feels that he has to go through with the threesome even though his heart is clenching inside of him and he doesn't want to share Bethany. It's easy to see where this is going and the question is whether or not the friendship between Jace and Ash can survive this one night with the girl of Jace's dreams.

Jace awakes the next morning and Bethany is nowhere to be found. There's only a note thanking them both for dinner. This is something completely new and foreign to Jace and Ash, as they are usually the ones walking out - never the girl. Jace spends the better part of two weeks in a stupor and searching for his Bethany, as he plans to lay claim to her. What he discovers is shocking to them all, but it makes no difference to Jace. He falls fast and hard, regardless of Bethany's past and present circumstance. Jace disregards the warnings of his best friend Ash and pursues Bethany relentlessly. He wins her over, but not without letting his temper get the best of him many times, threatening to destroy the love he never thought he would share with a woman.

Bethany is a very different character. She is very strong but also very fragile. She has a sordid past that she has tried repeatedly to escape, but it's difficult when she survives minute to minute, not just day to day. Because of the hard life she has endured and her current circumstance, she has extreme self-worth issues and doesn't deem herself worthy of being with Jace. She knows he's out of her league, but Jace won't hear of it. There is only one world according to Jace, and they are both in it together. He only wants Bethany to see herself as he sees her - beautiful, strong, and perfect for him.

Jace is so dominant, yet he is also very submissive when it comes to Bethany. He can't deny her anything, but he continuously screws up with his temper and his uncanny ability to jump to conclusions. All Bethany wants is his trust. He gives her so much more. He gives her a sense of belonging that she desperately needs, a family that loves her as much as he does, and a home in his world. As the dominant and controlling alpha male he is, Jace lays claim to Bethany and nothing is ever going to be the same.

To say that it was easy for the two of them is wrong. It was never easy. I cried so many tears while reading Fever. It wasn't just sad tears; these were big, ugly, face-distorting soak the front of my blouse tears! The angst was at an all time high at more than one point, and the emotions I felt were so much more than what I felt in Rush ... and that's saying a lot! Jace was forceful, yet mild and sweet. Bethany had nothing to give Jace except her trust and her love, and that's all he ever wanted from her. I won't say Fever is all tears and angst, because I loved when I received the much needed break to laugh out loud at the girl's night out, a signature in Maya Banks's novels. The drunk sex was hilarious and I loved every second of it. The regular sex throughout the story, far from vanilla, was extremely hot and required a glass of ice water next to me as I read. The ice water was not for drinking ... it was a necessity for splashing over me to cool me off from the scenes between Jace and Bethany. Blistering. Scorching. Sizzling. Smoking. A blazing inferno! Fever contains light BDSM and has a MMF scene, but no matter how light, the steam is certainly there and sweltering. Whew!

If you haven't figured it out yet, I strongly recommend Fever (the title is so fitting) to those who want to feast on a complete story with a happy ending after going through Hades and back with a side of severe rush akin to bungee jumping from a hovering helicopter at 10,000 feet. Fever is that extreme and intense!

I heart this book SO MUCH!

Restoring Jordan ebook

I bought this cabinet online at this same price but with free shipping to a local Walmart. Shop around because it is available at many sites for vastly differing prices ($99.99-$249.99). If shipping is charged it is generally about $50.00. This is a wonderful piece. It is heavy and very well made. Best of all it looks like a nice little cabinet when shut and can be rolled wherever you like. It does not look cheap and works well with my antique furniture. I use in my entry way accented with a scarf and lamp and roll it into the living room or kitchen when I am working on a project. The 60 inch width when opened is superior to drafting tables in this price range which run 36 to 48 inches wide. There is ample storage in shelving and bins, and a chair can be pulled all the way in with plenty of knee room when the drop leaf is extended. It was not difficult to put together. Cinnamon Cherry Mobile Sewing Finish

I bought this cabinet online at this same price but with free shipping to a local Walmart. Shop around because it is available at many sites for vastly differing prices ($99.99-$249.99). If shipping is charged it is generally about $50.00. This is a wonderful piece. It is heavy and very well made. Best of all it looks like a nice little cabinet when shut and can be rolled wherever you like. It does not look cheap and works well with my antique furniture. I use in my entry way accented with a scarf and lamp and roll it into the living room or kitchen when I am working on a project. The 60 inch width when opened is superior to drafting tables in this price range which run 36 to 48 inches wide. There is ample storage in shelving and bins, and a chair can be pulled all the way in with plenty of knee room when the drop leaf is extended. It was not difficult to put together. Ah Goo Baby Plush Memory

Now I'm no baby, but this cushion is super soft and thick. The zipper is nice because it's hidden and it comes off easily to wash. I have yet to use this on my baby but I don't think I'll have many complaints once I do use it. The design (Zoo Frenzy) I got is beautiful, and lots of fun to look at.

The other changing mats I was looking at, were way to small for even my friends 3 month old, and they all just seemed cheap feeling. This one I can use for not only changing, but for tummy time when out some place with out a blanket. Only of course if we don't have any nasty accidents on it.

Some concerns I could see is it does not have a place to put diapers or wipes, but I bought this knowing I would have them in my bag and would gladly sacrifice those crappy pockets for this wonderful mat that my baby will fit on for months longer than the other ones out there.

I thought that this was a great story and an even greater concept. I had read previous books by the author and previous reviews and felt that the author was unfairly "dissed" by other military wives. I think that even among the community of military spouses and families, there is a dividing line between those who spend a career deployed and those who are only deployed in times of war and conflict. My grandmother was the spouse of a Submariner who spent six months of nearly every year of their marriage deployed. That is what Gram signed up for...and 5 of the six months that he was not at sea, he was preparing to be so. There were also the late night calls..."be at lower base at 0:300 and be prepared to be gone for a while". Gramp was very literally a guest in his own home when he was stateside, Gram ruled the roost and made all household purchases and decisions. She was in many ways, a single mother and she did it well; but she was very aware of the role that she had signed up for. My heart goes out to all of those who did not expect 10 years of near steady deployments and for those who chose to go IA. I do not know what Justin's deal was, but here in my community, one year IA in a war zone equates to three years in service. For those nearing retirement 3 for 1 is a deal that many cannot and will not pass up. Sarah made the best of the year and her boys learned lessons that will last them a lifetime. When they leave the comfort of home and go out into the "real world" those lessons learned will serve them well. A wonderful story and a wonderful learning experience for all who participated, Fair winds and following seas, Smiley family and Sarah...Bravo Zulu from New London!!!

We ordered some cappuccino finish chairs that are also made by Coaster (Side Chair with Cross Back Design), and the table is just a tad bit lighter than the chairs and has a very, very slightly more red tone than the chairs do. The table legs have levelers in the bottoms so that you can stabilize it on an uneven floor if needed, which is nice. My only complaint would be that the table has a few nicks in the finish, mostly very minor, which clearly had to have been there before it was shipped (it was packaged really well and therefore shouldn't have happened during the shipping process). I really mean minor. They're small spots without finish, just a few mm in diameter, not big scratches or gouges. None of them were enough for us to send it back. The top of the table is pretty clear of nicks. Most of them are on the legs, and one is on a side of the shelf. A few dabs of a wood finish marker and they're blended well-enough. We turned the one spot that was slightly worse than the others--the one on the shelf--toward the wall, too, just in case. If you want a perfectly unblemished table, you probably shouldn't be ordering one online anyway. If a few minor blemishes aren't going to bother you, it's a really great table.

PostSecret Extraordinary Confessions Ordinary Lives

The "postcards" in this book were collected as part of an art project, but it's just as much a psychology experiment. Imagine a world where you can learn people's innermost secrets...the good, the bad, the sexy, the hilariously funny, and the devastatingly sad...and you've got "PostSecret: Extraordinary Confessions from Ordinary Lives."

Some of the material is odd, but you can imagine a person telling her closest friend, like the card showing women's feet with the admission, "I show pictures of my feet to a man online so he'll buy me stuff."

Some is joyous, but with a sad undertone, such as a close-up of a baby's face with this written across it: "For the first time since I was a baby I am finally happy. I'm 28." You want to congratulate the person, but it's also a little sad to think that he or she went so long without being happy.

In the devastatingly sad category, I include one in which someone tells a friend that he or she is glad the friend's uncle died because he had molested the writer when he/she was in 7th grade. That's a tough thing to tell a friend, and at least as tough to hear.

The lighter side includes such overtly funny admissions as, "I used to get high and watch Lawrence Welk." and the highly understandable "I waste office supplies because I hate my boss."

If you think I've given it all away here, believe me, there is SO much more. In fact, while I love the book, I recommend reading it in several sittings - it's VERY emotional in many sections and can be downright overwhelming if you approach it with too much empathy. Then again, if you don't, you're likely to miss half the humanity of this very moving book.

These items are covered in faux leather, but they look VERY good. 10 out of 10 for appearance. And they look like they will last (I have a similar faux leather seat cover that has lasted over 30 years) - the stitching is nicely done.

The storage bench is very solid, but not too heavy. The top flips so that you can either use it as a padded bench, or flip it over to use as a coffee table.

The 2 ottomans are nicely sized, and very light. Although the top of the ottoman is padded and sturdy enough to sit on - the sides are just the faux leather over a frame. So if you're looking for something that you can put weight on its side (although I don't know why you would) then these aren't for you. But they work fine as footrests or little benches.

For $99 and free shipping - these are worth every penny and look good.

ZeptoLab Pudding Monsters

I searched FOREVER trying to decide on a fan for my new Vaio but I couldn't bring myself to spend a bunch of money on something I couldn't examine first. So I finally broke down and bought this one because it was cheap and got decent reviews. When I got it I was glad that the fans were positioned perfectly for the vents on my laptop. You would think the light would be annoying but it's really not noticable once you sit the laptop on it.

My only gripes are that the fans are open on the bottom so you can't sit it on your lap or bed or w/e without sitting a book or a laptop stand up under the fan. Also the other side of the usb hookup is fairly sharp and I'm always scratching myself on it by accident :( but it doesn't do any real damage it's just a bit of a nuisance.

To date my computer has never shut down due to overheating and for a cheap little laptop cooler it works perfectly. I would highly reccomend at least giving it a try.
